The
shopping area in Vilagarcía goes from the Pazo Vista Alegre
to the roundabout of O Ramal, and comprises several pedestrian
precincts. The shopping offer is extensive and varied. You can
dress fashionably in Vilagarcía: there are boutiques, shops
specialized in certain styles (surf, hippie, hip-hop and so on)
and international and national chains stores. If you need to buy
some food, there are also many different options: there are establishment
of the main Spanish and European companies, grocer’s shops
which give a personalized service and “delicatessen”
shops.
The visitor has in Vilagarcía nearly all that he may need:
chemist’s, ironmonger’s, stationer’s, toy shops,
optician’s, herbalist’s, furniture shop, florist’s
and so on. Many of this business belong to an association called
Zona Aberta, which offers profitable buying conditions to the
owners of its fidelity card.
The
business hours are usually from 10 a.m. to 1.30 or 2.00 p.m. and
from 4.30 or 5.00 p.m. to 8.00 or 8.30 p.m. On Saturdays, shops
are open at the owner’s choice –only in the morning
or in the morning and in the afternoon-, and they are closed on
Sunday (except from Christmas time and sales).
Vilagarcía also has a shopping centre, sited by A Xunqueira
park; it is open from Monday to Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The facilities are suitable for disabled people. Besides a supermarket,
it has bars and cafés as well as a wide presence of many
different shopping sectors: fashion, household, gifts, personal
care, leisure and free time articles, and so one. Customers have
an underground car park in the own building at their disposal.
