Vilagarcía yachting harbour is the most important in O Salnés
and one of the most outstanding in Galicia. Its facilities have
the guarantee of the EU Blue Flag, which rewards the quality of
its services. Currently, it has 450 berths, with the possibility
to increase its number to 800; it also has a nautical building with
restaurant and other services and a leisure complex with bars, pubs
and a cinema with seven screens
Arousa bay is a unique place for water sports during the whole year,
although most activity takes place during the summer. Yachting is
already part of the sea landscape, as well as the yachting courses
for beginners, undertaken by the sport clubs of the area.
The marina is for pedestrian use only, although there is a keeper
who allows the entry of vehicles for loading and unloading activities,
for the yachtsmanship as well as for the café and restaurant
placed at the end of the dock.
The facilities for yachting in Vilagarcía will be soon increased
by the construction of a Centro de Alta Tecnificación de
Vela (School for the Technical Improvement in Sailing) in the harbour,
which will provide professional training to the best sportsmen and
women in Galicia. As for the canoeing and rowing, the most important
clubs are Liceo Casino and Club de Remo de Vilaxoán.
