Arousa Fútbol 7
It is a renowned international competition of football-7 for
children under 12. Organized by Arosa SC, its first edition
was in 1996. The elite of the youth football in Spain and Portugal
has already visited the municipal football ground of A Lomba,
from Real Madrid to Barcelona and from Benfica to Boavista or
Oporto. It is played in the first weekend of June.
Vilagarcía Basket Cup
International competition of under-20 basketball teams. Organized
by the Club Baloncesto Vilagarcía, it also started in
1996. It is regarded as one of the best tournaments in Europe:
it is not for nothing that has it been played by Real Madrid,
Barcelona, Zalguiris or Cibona, besides American, Italian, German
and many Spanish premier league teams. The competition always
takes place in Easter.
Memorial Michi AresTennis Cup
Children’s tennis tournament organized by the Basket Base
Club, in memory of a young player. It started as a basketball
contest to turn into a tennis competition in 2002. It is played
in September.
