It
is a listed building. It was built in the 16th century by the
abbot of Teverga, Rodrigo de Mendoza, descendant of the founder
of Vilagarcía. In its big granite front, painstakingly
sculpted, it is displayed the coat of arms of the first Vilagarcía
marquis. Some interesting elements of the original construction
have been preserved, such as the towers with battlements, chimneys
(one round and the other one rectangular), coats of arms and other
adornments in several parts of its front.
