It
is the most important Romanesque monument of the town and one of
the most characteristic examples of that period in Galicia. Inside
the temple there is a grave with a reclining statue of Juan Mariño
de Soutomaior, of whom Vilaxoán took his name. The front
combines a severe rose window, genuinely Romanesque and, beneath
it, a window of double pair of columns with double arch.
