It
was built in the 17th century in the baroque style, over an ancient
chapel whose antiquity is ignored. It is an austere church, with
a main front that contains a door with a lintel inside pilasters
and a pediment. The whole piece is topped with a curved pediment
that takes in a vaulted niche with a stone statue. Until the end
of the 19th century, the church was connected with the Vista Alegre
convent trough a bridge over the swamps, which was also the road
to Cambados. The Rosario Chapel is the most important of its side
naves.
